A Sacred Reminder as We Cross Into the New Year
A Sacred Reminder as We Cross the New Year is a faith-filled reflection that encourages believers to journey forward with obedience, trust, and spiritual discernment. Through Scripture, testimony, and exhortation, the post reminds readers that Christ walks with us through every season, calling us to guard our hearts, remain faithful, and rely fully on His guidance, grace, and promises each step of the way.

As we step into a new year, I am compelled to reflect on the weight of the season behind me. This past year was marked by trials that tested both my endurance and my faith, from rearing my children as a single mother to stewarding my business without assistance to bearing the responsibility of serving as a caregiver to one of my parents. Yet through every burden and every battle, it was the sustaining hand of God that upheld me. I stand in gratitude for His unmerited grace, His unfailing love, and His enduring mercy.
Along this journey, I lost individuals I believed were divinely assigned to my life for a lifetime. Instead of loyalty, I encountered betrayal; instead of covering, I endured slander; instead of blessing, curses were spoken against me. Yet in that crucible, the Lord brought to remembrance a scripture etched deeply within my spirit: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” (Job 13:15)
Though my flesh was provoked to retaliate, I restrained my tongue and submitted my emotions to the authority of the Word. For it is written, “Be ye angry, and sin not.” (Ephesians 4:26). And again, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” (Psalm 105:15). Rather than engaging in verbal warfare that could have compromised my character, I carried the matter before the Lord in prayer. And I testify with confidence, He proved Himself to be my Defender. The battle belonged to Him, and He fought on my behalf.
Once again, I give thanks for the love of God and for the promises contained within His Word; promises we are called to treasure and guard within our hearts. On this Christian journey, seasons of isolation and misunderstanding are inevitable, yet we are anchored by this truth: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5).
When circumstances appear dim and hope feels distant, I lift my eyes toward the hills, recalling the assurance of the Lord spoken through the prophet: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11). He is faithful to provide all that we require when we place our trust and confidence in Him. For His Word declares, “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19).
In moments of physical affliction, I refuse to rely solely on human understanding or be governed by the reports of men. Instead, I anchor myself in divine truth, knowing that “by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5). I stand firm on the promise of eternal life in Christ, drawing strength from the truth that “the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10). These promises fortify my inner being and renew my faith.
And because of this assurance, I walk in unshakable confidence, knowing that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13). God is not a man that He should abandon what He has begun. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). What He starts, He completes. Therefore, trust in the One who formed you, who calls you by name, and who loves you beyond measure.
So I ask you: How will you cultivate deeper trust in God today?
How will you glorify Him through your words, your posture, and your actions?
Take a moment to reflect, and be assured of this truth: He is with you.
