I know with certainty that I am not alone in bearing witness to this truth: Jesus Christ is our Healer. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who restores, repairs, and makes whole. In every season, He reveals Himself as our Comforter and our Prince of Peace, manifesting Himself as all that we require Him to be. This past year, I personally beheld the tangible evidence of God’s mercy and covenantal love.

My father endured a prolonged season of physical affliction, navigating countless medical consultations while awaiting a viable kidney transplant. As a family, we labored in prayer, petitioning heaven with faith and perseverance. In due time, God answered. A donor with a fully functioning kidney was identified, and my father was next in line to receive it. We erupted in praise, unaware that the miracle would be preceded by an even greater trial.

Less than a week following the transplant, my father suffered cardiac arrest twice. Even as I write this, my eyes fill with tears, not of sorrow, but of overwhelming gratitude. Physicians labored diligently, yet I am convinced that angels were dispatched into that room. As they resuscitated him, the very breath of God was released into his lungs. “And the Lord God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” (Genesis 2:7)

During that moment, my spirit was deeply unsettled. I discerned that a spiritual battle was unfolding. As I watched a television scene depicting a young girl witnessing the death of her father, my soul was stirred, and intercession erupted from my lips. I cried out, “Lord, let Your will be done. You did not bring him this far to abandon him now. We trust You for a breakthrough and a miracle, right now!”

Moments later, my mother rushed into my apartment, placing the phone in my hand. The physician’s voice on the other end declared that my father had been stabilized following acute heart failure. Though weakened, he was alive and closely monitored. God had intervened.

As I recount this testimony, my mind is drawn to the earthly ministry of Jesus, how He healed all manner of sickness and disease, cast out demons, and raised the dead. In the Gospel of Matthew, when a young girl was pronounced dead, Jesus silenced the mourners and declared, “The maid is not dead, but sleepeth.” Though they mocked Him, He took her by the hand, and she arose.
“And the maid arose. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.” (Matthew 9:24–26)

Likewise, when Peter’s mother-in-law lay bedridden with a fever, Jesus touched her hand, and immediately the fever left her. She rose and ministered unto Him.
“And He touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.” (Matthew 8:15)

Let us speak of faith.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

Though we do not see Jesus with natural eyes, we discern His presence. We hear His still, gentle whisper in moments of solitude. We believe that faith apprehends what sight cannot. With a word, He performed miracles; with a touch, He restored the broken, and by faith, it was done. Consider the woman with the issue of blood. For twelve years she suffered, yet she declared within herself that if she could but touch the hem of His garment, she would be made whole. In a crowded multitude, her faith drew virtue from Him, and instantly, she was healed (Mark 5:25–34).

A leper approached Him and said, “Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean.” Jesus responded, “I will; be thou clean.” And immediately, the leprosy departed (Matthew 8:2-3).

Now, hear my own testimony.

I have been engaged in an ongoing battle with a questionable medical diagnosis. Pain invaded my body in places I never anticipated. The conclusion was fibromyalgia, among other conditions. I returned home barely able to stand. Fear sought to paralyze me. The word “incurable” echoed relentlessly in my mind. But instead of yielding, I lifted my voice in praise like never before, and the chains of affliction shattered immediately. I worshiped until my voice grew hoarse. I commanded the enemy to loosen his grip, declaring the authority granted to me through Christ.
“For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14)

Though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I feared no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4) I pleaded the blood of Jesus over my mind and over my body. I warred in my kitchen with the Word of God, and the adversary had no choice but to flee. For it is written, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

The demonic realm trembles at the sound of the name of Jesus. So when your back is pressed against the wall, call on His name.

He is Healer.
He is Jehovah Rapha.
He is Faithful forevermore.
He is a Miracle Worker.
He is everything we need Him to be, and exceedingly more.

So I ask you:

Where is your faith today?
